No holds barred Texas hands out plenty of moving violations(I ought to know I was thrown in jail there, for on minor violation) , this is done every day to continually supply the educational system responsible for the improvements. Figure it out, the law enforcement community is being used to recruit new students for the system every time a ticket is written.
Today, in most TX traffic courts, defensive driving course can remove one moving violation ticket a year. Texas will pay for the course, by redirecting ticket revenue, you pay for the driving course, not the ticket.
I feel this is a great idea, ongoing driver education will, reduce fatalities as well as accidents. Texas is number two, right behind California in annual traffic fatalities.
These terrific courses are a great idea, and they would be great in every state. When it comes to driver education, Texans might really be as smart as they have always claimed.
Safety tip of the day: the vast majority of traffic accidents, are caused by one vehicle striking another in the rear. This type of accident is usually avoidable and can be prevented by changing driving habits... the causes are usually inattention and following too close.
Remember to maintain the proper distance... stay one car length back for every 10 miles per hour of speed... or maintain a 2 second interval between you and the car in front of you. This can be measured by watching a spot on the road and counting... one one thousand, two one thousand...
The proper following distance should take into account, being able to stop if the car in front of you were to suddenly stop. If you were to crash into the rear of another vehicle you were following after it crashed into the rear of another vehicle, you would be just as guilty as the driver in front of you... kporchhaulling.
