Make A Stand And Help Prevent Accidents At Railroad Crossings...

If you'll give me a few minutes of your time, I'll explain how you can join the rest of the nation in preventing accidents at railroad crossings.

Jump on the bandwagon with South Carolina and the rest of the nation. To make a long story short, there's a nationwide effort to prevent accidents when crossing the railroad across the state.
Officials from the state Department of Public Safety and the CSX and Norfolk Southern railroads, on Wednesday got on the cutting edge, by joining representatives of Operation Lifesaver for a series of news conferences across the state.
Operation Lifesaver is a nationwide public information program to reduce collisions, injuries and fatalities at highway-rail crossings.
Maybe I'm out of whack, but I feel if you loose your shirt and cause an accident the fine should double. Why? Because hot-heads are nothing to laugh at; furthermore, being a law abiding citizen is suppose to mean more than what meets the eye.
It's now or never, the group is urging drivers to give school buses a break at rail-crossings where buses are required to stop and look, even if a crossing gate is up. Kporchhaulling

Safety tip of the day
: don't get the short end of the stick. The law allows drivers to make right turns at red signals unless the intersection has a sign that prohibits those turns. This does not mean that you can use the red signal as a yield sign when you make your right turn. The driver must stop first, then make the right turn if it is safe to do so. Kporchhaulling
