The Secret Dangers of Driving and Cellphones...

If you use a cellphone while driving, the odds are higher you'll be involved in an accident.

The whole enchilada, research by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration---suppressed for years and released only after petitions were filed b y advocacy groups--- has me feeling repulsive. The research is presaging and shows that there are "negligible differences" in accident risk, pertaining to whether you're holding a cellphone or conversing hands-free. And there's more, hands-free devices may even enhance the danger by encouraging your complacency, but the long and short of the dilemma; it's the conversation while driving that causes the danger, no matter whether the device is hand held or not.
Do you know that drivers who talk on cellphones are four times more likely to be in a crash and drive just as erratically as people with an 0.08 percent blood-alcohol level. In one study cited by the highway safety agency, drivers found it easier to drive drunk than to drive while using a phone, even when it was hands-free.
It ain't over till it's over, Hollywood offered a cautionary story which begins with Will Smith spoiling his perfect life when he BlackBerrys while driving in his fancy car while being elated with his new fiance. He crashes into another car, killing six strangers and his girlfriend. In such a scenario talking on a cellphone isn't all it's cracked up to be.
The agency laughed all the way to the bank, and allowed Americans to go on a roller coastal ride. They hide the research for years and ignored the fact that soon nearly all Americans would own cellphones. Kporchhaulling

Safety tip of the day: buckle down, most crashes on one-way streets is drivers making left or right turns from the wrong lane. If you intend to make a left turn, you need to do so from the left lane. If you intend to turn right do so from the right lane. If there is a center lane it is a forward lane only. DO NOT TURN from the center lane. If you are in the center lane and you anticipate a left or right turn, you should move to the appropriate lane in advance. Turning from the proper lane will ensure that you are not involved in a collision with a vehicle to your right or left.
